Keeping Food Fresh with a Nitrogen Generator, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), and N2 Packaging Using a Nitrogen Generator.
What Is Vertical Form Fill?
Vertical Form Fill is a popular practice in food packaging. These Vertical Form Fill machines work to take a flat section of plastic film and create a bag out of it while also filling it with product (dry or liquid) and sealing it off. Nitrogen gas injection can be incorporated into Vertical Form Fill so that N2 gas is forced into the package just before it is sealed. This food packaging process results in fresher food with better taste and texture. It's an automated, assembly-line system that also helps reduce production costs as well as wholesale and retail prices of the product.
Using a Nitrogen Generator with Vertical Form Fill
South-Tek Systems designs and manufactures Nitrogen Generator units ideal for use in food packaging and particularly with Vertical Form Fill. A Nitrogen Generator unit eliminates the need for handling high pressure N2 gas tanks and for dealing with gas company contracts and deliveries. It is a safe, reliable, easy-to-use, and cost effective alternative to high pressure tanks.

We recently reported on our Nitrogen Generator units being used at a military base in Iraq (see: Supporting Our Troops - N2 Generators Used With Military in Iraq) and another one at Camp Freedom in Iraq (See: N2 Generator Used at Camp Freedom in Iraq).
We have heard back from military officials who are currently using our Nitrogen Generator products on bases here in the U.S. with their personal reviews.
A Site Manager from Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan reports: "The nitrogen generator we have works exceptionally well and has simplified things for the techs. We no longer need an outside nitrogen source."
An Intermediate TWS Lead Tech from Fort Bragg near Fayetteville, NC says: "I really think the units are worth the money spent, because of safety issues with transporting bottles and the cost saving in time and money. Plus, the response (from South-Tek Systems) to what we thought were problems and questions was excellent."
An official from Fort Lewis in Colorado declares: "Tanks are very portable and maneuverable, can take it right inside the unit to work or can keep in our shop van and work from that. We have had them now for a couple of months and only had to re-fill tanks once. We can plug in at night when we return from unit and when we come in in the morning tanks are full and ready to go. Big time saver for us."
A manager from Fort Hood in Texas tells us: "The system has worked exceptionally well here at Fort Hood. It was easy to assemble and is simple to use. We mounted it on a small cart to make it more mobile and we were good to go."
And, perhaps most simply put, a technician from Fort Carson, Colorado says: "A hell of a lot easier than using those high pressure tanks. We love these things."
